Technology Integration
It is my belief that in order to improve education and bring it to the level it needs to be at, technology is an essential element. Schools are quickly taking the initiative to integrate technology into their daily habits. It is an initiative that I believe will make it possible for more students to excel in school and in the real world. It will prepare students with skills and knowledge that are essential foundations for life-long learning. Effective technology integration must occur across the curriculum in numerous ways; ways that enhance rather than impede the learning process. Technology integration needs to support active engagement participation, interaction, feedback, and real-world connections. This can be achieved when technology use is routine and coincides with our curricular goals.
Once we provide students with the opportunity to use technology in the classroom, they will be able to actively make choices about how to generate, obtain, manipulate, or display information. Consistent technology use will allow students to be actively and critically thinking about information and about making choices.

Take a look at the PowerPoint Presentation I put together. It is a short presentation, designed to be implemented in a fourth grade classroom. This lesson focuses on the motion of the Sun, Moon and Earth, and it adresses the Michigan Grade Level Content Standards (GLCEs) for a fourth grade unit in Earth Science. The GLCEs being covered are as follows: E.ST.04.21, E.ST.04.22, and E.ST.04.23 and S.IP.04.11. The presentation is accompanied by an audio track. This audio can be utlized as you see fit. It is simply a guide.

Digital Storytelling Lesson
The following lesson is designed for use in an upper elementary or sixth grade language arts class. It utilizes a new form of storytelling, digital storytelling. Digital storytelling refers to the use of digital tools; such as, Microsoft Photo Story 3 (a free program to download for Windows) or iMovie (Macs). There are also numerous other resources to locate online that aid in the production of digital stories. Having students create these digital stories is an amazing way to motivate and inspire.
Promethean Board Software
Here is a Promeathean Board Flipchart that was used as an introductory lesson to the book: "Dear Mr. Henshaw". This flipchart incorporated numerous multi-media resources; ranging from images, KWL charts, timelines, and videos. This is one of many smart board lessons that I created.
